Food Rot - to undergo decomposition; decay.
Food roots because of microbes and their need to survive. Since food source is things like fruit and other foods. There is no way to stop the rot of natural plant but we have ways of prolonging rot. One way is keeping them in bags and put preservative in them.
Some of the popular ways of keeping food from rooting are; Freezing, Canning, Pickling, Salting/sugaring, and Dehydration.
Their basic principles are, Temperature variations, Treatments with Chemicals, and Drying.
The one I will be using will be using is Freezing. It works by get the temperature so low that microbes can't grow, however the temperature need to be kept at a level just so the fruit its self doesn't suffer freezer burn or other things that would make the food less eatable. (About 42 Degrees F). This temperature only slows the progression of the microbes on the food. Or you can do the opposite and raise the temperature and kill the microbes but also make the food go bad as well. However this practice of heating food to kill the microbes in the food and doing this everyone once in a while (Like every other day).
Some of the problems with food rotting from Microbes is the fact that it can carry deadly diseases such as plague and other deadly diseases.
